On September 27, at Huu Nghi international border gate in Lang Son province, Vietnamese authorities completed procedures to hand over three Chinese nationals wanted by Chinese authorities to the Chinese police.
The handover was carried out by the Phu Tho Provincial Police’s Security Investigation Agency in coordination with the Office of the Investigation Police Agency under the Ministry of Public Security and the Lang Son Border Guard Command.
Vietnam Investigators, the three individuals were identified as Li Hie Jie, Zhou Lei, and Han Wei.
Previously, while expanding an investigation into a case involving the organization of illegal stays in Vietnam in Phu Tho Province, Vietnamese authorities conducted a review and verification of individuals connected to the case.
Through professional investigative measures, authorities identified four Chinese nationals who were wanted by Chinese law enforcement agencies.
One of them, Weng RongShu, was handed over to Chinese authorities on June 19 after the necessary procedures were completed.
For the remaining three individuals, Vietnamese authorities completed the required legal procedures and handed them over to Chinese police at Huu Nghi International Border Gate on September 27.
According to Phu Tho Provincial Police, the prompt identification and handover of individuals wanted by Chinese authorities contributed to the investigation into the case involving the organization of illegal stays in Vietnam.
The operation also demonstrated effective cooperation between Vietnamese and Chinese law enforcement agencies in information sharing, verification, and handling cases involving foreign nationals.
The handover further contributes to international cooperation in preventing and combating cross-border crime, while supporting efforts to maintain security and public order in the region.
