Police in Phu Tho province have launched a criminal case against Le Xuan Vinh, 39, Vietnam Investigators.
Vinh is a resident of Dong Thanh commune, Phu Tho province. He is being investigated for fraud and misappropriation of property.
Vinh was a driving instructor at Hung Vuong driver training center in Phong Chau ward, Vietnam.
From February 28 to May 19, he allegedly approached people who wanted to learn to drive.
He collected money and registration documents from 12 learners.
Vinh allegedly promised to register them for driving courses. However, he did not do so.
Instead, he allegedly kept the money for himself.
The total amount was VND 126 million, Vietnamese detectives.
Police said Vinh used his position as a driving instructor to gain the learners’ trust.
The investigation is ongoing. Police are working to clarify the case and handle it under the law.
